Churchill has been named one of America's Coolest Stores by INSTORE, the magazine for the American jewelry store owner. The Fairway, KS, business took third place in the Small Cool division for stores with five or fewer full-time employees.
A total of 111 stores entered the ninth annual contest that highlights the best examples of independent jewelry retailers in North America.
"Every year we feel privileged to bring our readers the best of the best in our industry," said Ralf Kircher, INSTORE's executive editor. "From its marketing to its merchandising, Churchill easily falls into that category. Everything about the store is like a treasure waiting to be discovered."
Stores are judged in exterior appearance, interior appearance, store biography, advertising, website and overall individuality.
"Wow! When you go into Churchill, you've got to feel like you just walked into a jewelry treasure trove," said Patti David, one of the industry-based judges and co-owner of Zoltan David of Bee Cave, TX, winner of the 2009 Coolest Small Store. "Her eclectic assortment and beautiful ornate surroundings would make you feel like you can't leave until you've seen everything."
The top five winners in the two divisions are given trophies and featured in the August issue of INSTORE and at instoremag.com.
